Roller shutters in Villefranche-sur-Mer

Villefranche puts three difficulties in one place: salt straight off the bay, façades that are genuinely old, and streets a delivery van cannot reach. Any one of them changes what should be specified. Together they mean a closure here is not the same product as one fitted two valleys inland.

Salt, and what it actually attacks

Facing the bay, the air carries salt crystals that settle on the façade and pull moisture back out of the night air. The aluminium curtain copes with that — aluminium does not rust. What fails first are the accessories: fixings, end caps, guide brackets. Specifying those for coastal exposure at order time is the decision that determines whether the shutter still works in ten years.

Old façades: the box has to disappear

In the old town the lintels are stone, the openings are rarely square, and there is often no space for a modern box. A tunnel box hides in the existing thickness; a renovation model mounts on the face and takes up the out-of-square with adjustable guides. Both leave the façade essentially as it was, which is what the setting requires.

Narrow access

Some addresses cannot be reached by vehicle. That is a manufacturing question as much as a delivery one: a curtain can be produced in sections, and the installer needs to know before quoting rather than on the morning of the fitting. Tell us the access when you ask for a price and we will factor it in.

Remaking parts to size

Where a box is sound but the shutter has failed, we remake curtains, guides and end slats to the exact dimensions of what is there. On a protected façade that is often the only sensible route, because it changes nothing visible.
